Waiheke AI Launches EU-Funded Next-Generation Education Project
Today, WAIHEKE S.R.L. announces the signing of a funding agreement for “Investiții în Soluții de Educație Next Gen cu Waiheke AI” (“Investment in Next-Generation Education Solutions with Waiheke AI”), project code MySMIS 329812.
The project is funded through the Centru Region Programme 2021–2027, Action 2.2, with non-reimbursable support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). It marks an important step in our work to make learning and professional development more personal and accessible.
What we're building
Over the course of the project, we will develop and implement AI-based education and professional training solutions: a proprietary large language model and an educational platform designed to offer personalised learning experiences.
The ambition is practical. Young people and professionals in Romania's Centru Region need ways to develop skills for a digital economy that keeps changing. We want to build tools that help them learn in ways better suited to their individual needs.
The planned investment also includes technology equipment and training to strengthen our own digital capabilities. At least 300 users of the new digital services is a project target, not an outcome we are claiming today.
The funding and timeline
The project's total value is RON 1,367,290.84. Of this, RON 739,298.19 is non-reimbursable EU co-financing through the ERDF. Implementation is scheduled from 17 November 2025 to 17 September 2027.
